Tuesday 6th March 2013
Dull, overcast but at least dry.
One of those boring days for me. Helped with the weekly shopping first thing then visits to two solicitors regarding Mothers Estate.
Picture of a fluffed up bird on the sunflower feeder. Was there twenty minutes before a fight ensued and the fluffy ball flew a short distance to a table for a rest before flying away to the Ash Tree.

The most beautiful of days. Mild with plenty of sun.
Spent day dealing with urgent repairs to the Pond Bridge Steps, in fact ended up replacing the steps.
Frogs were busy in the pond, problem with spawning at this time of year is the risk of frost. Fingers crossed.
First Bumble Bee spotted, think may have been disturbed by my working as was busy by the pond.
A yellow Brimstone was also very busy flying between the gardens. Sadly no photographs.
Being a warm evening I have set the Moth Trap, a bit early in the year but taking advantage of the warmth.

Monday 4th March 2013
Brilliant weather today, plenty of sun, mild and dry.
Good to meet up with Janet and Colin at the New Inn lunchtime. Pint of Poachers, a Steak & Kidney Pudd', Bread & Butter Pudd' to finish. Lovely.
Starlings spent some time looking in the Woodpecker Box. A Starling also spent time inside the Swift Box, this was picked up by the nest box camera connected to the split screen monitor. Will try to photograph tomorrow for a record.

Another good sunny, dry, chilly day.
A lazy day not doing much! Henry Street in the morning, looking for path/lawn edging. Birds searching for insects scratch the garden shreddings over the lawn. A definitive edge should help.
Rest of the day spent sitting in the garden watching the birds sounding out the various nest boxes. Will try taking photographs tomorrow.

Not a bad day, dry, bit of sun and on the chilly side.
Spent day on the Trellis Project, all finished now.
Replacement Hanging Baskets arrived today. After 30 odd years decided to purchase new ones from a Nursery in Jersey.
www.Jerseyplants £10.99p per two.
www,yougarden £4.99p per two.
Both Nurseries are based in Jersey which makes it even more crazy the difference in prices.
Good to see Carlos and Sarah for evening dinner. Lorna came up trumps again with a good spread.

Friday 1st March 2013
Mild, dry but dull day.
Day spent on the Trellis Project at the far end of the garden. Two functions, hide the orange fencing recently erected by the Neighbs' and to grow Bird Friendly Climbers.
After deliberating for some months I today ordered a Conservatory to replace the Useful Room. Took some deciding as I spent a lot of time building the room. In the two years it became more than a Useful Room, it became the ultimate sitting room with the most wonderful view of the Garden and the Wildlife within.
I have designed the room now as eco friendly as possible with tripple glazing throughout thermal insulated walls and floor. I have also allowed for a Photograph Gallery and the sparky is going to work with me in how we can connect up my Nest Box Cameras to the monitor without the use of miles of cable. Heavy investment, money I had saved for a new car. Made the right decision me thinks?
