Another stunning day.
Rather relieved to see Phil this morning who explained a little of the problems facing Leekes at the moment. I do not expect builders on site now for at least a couple of weeks. Having worked in the building trade for some 75% of my working life I should be used to builders incompetence.
Most of the day spent relaxing in the garden.

Monday 3rd June 2013
Another beautiful day.
Enjoyed a good lunch at the Old Leathern Bottle with Janet & Colin. Venison Pie and a few pints of Tribute went down a treat. Had a lot to talk about, Janet came originally from Crail and spent a week in Scotland the same week we were away albeit they explored the west coast this time.
Relaxed in the garden during the afternoon, good to watch young tits learning how to drink from the pond.
Picture 1 - Two shield beetles, back to back.
" 2 - Young great tit drinking from the pond standing on a dustbin used by the fish during the colder months of winter.
Sunday 2nd June 2013
A very warm, sunny day. Hopefully to stay for a few more days.
A day spent relaxing in the garden, ending with a bbq and a few drinks with the neighbs.
There was an astonishing moment in the garden that I witnessed, never seen before and probably will never see again. Sadly no photographs. A Jay flew at speed into the Burberis Bush and took out a blue tit. The noise from other birds was one of fear. Even the Sparrowhawk has never taken a direct hit like that.

Saturday 1st June 2013
A beautiful day, sun all day.
Morning spent sorting out the tomato side shoots. Growing well, should be another good crop.
Enjoyed a meal with Savitri & Ian at lunch time. Was expecting a curry but was surprised to see Savitri presenting a truly English meat dish. Brilliant.

Well done weather, see you can do it when you try!
Another day spent on the useful room. Paving slabs were like a ton weight to me now. To think I used to throw these things about.
Good to see James & Marino this afternoon. Thanks for the Poachers James.
Pictures showing late spring garden colour.
Thursday 30th May 2013
Will the weather ever improve to give us a half decent summer?
Another day spent on the useful room, looking really sad now.
Starlings now eating me out of house & home. Not as many young as other years but still a fair number.
Young Squirrel driving me mad, will have to up my game now in trying to stop him nicking so many monkey nuts and peanuts.
Pictures 1 & 2 - Demolition of useful room.

Wednesday 29th May 2013
Another wet, breezy, cold day.
Day spent removing more of the Useful Room.
Enjoyed a celebratory meal at the George & Dragon with Lulu & Clive early evening. A good Angus Fillet Steak and a few pints of Doombar went down a treat. The weather 42 years ago was much the same as today.
