Sunday 5th October 2014
What happened, I set the alarm for an early morning walk and have just woken at 9am. Not happy as was looking forward to looking for a Snipe my Old Mate told me about.
Day was stunning, warm and sunny all day.
With rain forecast rest of the week I decided to work today on the bandstand border. All dead leaves, plants etc raked up. Shrubs trimmed and border covered in a layer of shreddings. Managed 6 large sacks of shreddings this year.

Saturday 4th October 2014
A dry, warm day with plenty of sun. Overnight we did experience a light shower.
Morning at Henry Street to purchase Wall Flowers and a sack of Daff' bulbs. Have the Wall Flowers planted a a big hole at the moment as the border for them is still very much in flower.
Great to see the winter birds beginning to arrive, today the Blackbirds, Chaffinches and Sparrows were back in large numbers.
Checked out the trail cam today and pleased to see the Hedgehog is still about. Appears to be living under the bee hive.

Friday 3rd October 2014
A very warm and sunny day.
My kind of day, enjoyed working on the Mouse House. All finished complete with camera connected to the monitor. Just require a Mouse now.
Have placed the house under the Silver Birch Tree as this is where I saw a Mouse the other night feeding from dropped fat bits from the feeder. Hoping for a result fairly soon?
Packed up the Moth trap tonight until the Spring. Been very little action of late and with rain forecast this weekend it seemed a good time to say goodbye for the season. Been a good year for Moths although nothing special as in previous years.

Thursday 2nd October 2014
Another warm day. Made the most of it as rain is forecast for the rest of the week.
After the weekly shop I enjoyed making another Mouse House. Will be installing a camera tomorrow, weather permitting.
Ratty spotted back in the flower pot so cat still to catch.

Very warm day.
Thanks very much to Colin this morning who helped me deal with the thousands of photographs that had caused issued with the 'cloud'. Technology?
Janet and Lorna caught up with gossip while Colin was helping me.
Finished the day with a short walk at Burghfield before enjoying a pie and a pint at the Cunning Man.

Tuesday 30th September 2014
A very, very warm day.
A day spent in London visiting the Royal Courts of Justice. This was a very interesting visit, had not appreciated how open to the public the RCJ was. Sat in on a case this afternoon, my word. There are some real sad cases out there in the real world. Appreciate more now of the work carried out by Barristers and Solicitors. The method of transporting court papers to court was barking as was the storage area. Looked like a waste paper recycling centre.

Very warm day.
Day spent cutting Oak and Bean Tree branches. Another three bags of shreddings collected.
While I had the chain saw out I cut another log for use as a Mouse House. My next project.
The local Ferrel cat has found where the Rat is living, so days are numbered I think.
