Bu**er me, what some weather. Over 25mm of rain today. Do not think it stopped all day. The sun made an appearance at times so was able to still use the camera.
Not much doing today as rather fidgety now the holiday is looming. Excited or what.
Did enjoy a walk this afternoon at Fobney, arrived home pretty wet along with a welcome home comment that went something like this: you mad or what? There is actually a feel good factor being out in the rain. The smell of freshly cut grass, smell of the workmans fire, the heron in flight against a gloomy sky and when the sun appears the butterflies appear. To me it was a most enjoyable walk.

What a contrast in weather conditions. Wet all day, gardens did require it so not all bad. Recently planted wallflower plants certainly have perked up today.
The rain kept me indoors today so took advantage and spent day organising the itinerary for the impending Scottish holiday.
Day safari looking for golden eagles booked, a day walking booked, a trip on the funicular railway at Aviemore also booked. Staying at a hotel that specialises in all things wildlife. Holiday will include evening talks, film shows and advice if venturing out on ones own. Have also checked out trip to Dores as is best place in the area for deer rutting and a trip up west to enjoy the area of Lochalsh. Visited before, just love the area.
Just hope now the weather is reasonable. Speaking to cuz this afternoon she said Scotland was cold but sunny today. Long may it stay that way.

What a superb day, warm and sunny all day.
Today was more relaxing, planted out hundreds of bulbs that I had dug up in the spring and separated. Could not believe how many I had collected. A mix of tulips, daffs, crocus, snowdrops and bluebells. Should be a good showing next spring.
Good to see the Jay returning to the garden, only started putting out monkey nuts yesterday afternoon so hopefully will see the Great Spotted returning soon.
Greenfinches and sparrows also returning in larger numbers now. Not seen starlings or blackbirds for a while however. There is of course plenty of food about in the wild at the moment.

Another very warm and sunny day.
Day spent finishing the trimming of the bay tree and the lopping of some pretty hefty bean tree branches.
Shreddings from the bay tree spread on the border surrounding the tree and the bean tree branches cut into manageable lengths and either shredded or placed in the stumpary.
After such a hard days work it was good to finish the day with a pint while cooking on the bbq. Making the most of this beautiful weather.

A delightful day, very warm and sunny all day.
Enjoyed a day in the cotswolds. Morning at Bourton On the Water and the afternoon at Adam Henson's Cotswold Farm.
Could not have picked a better day for such an adventure. You can only imagine what Bourton looked like with autumn colours looking magnificent against the morning sun. Enjoyed a walk through the town stopping for morning tea and pancakes before moving on to Adam's Farm.
The farm is just as you see it on TV every Sunday with the added attractions for children (and adults) which he is unable to advertise on the program. The 'Touching' Barn to me was an interest to adults as it was fun for the kids. To see chickens being born is still magical in my eyes. Watching the eggs crack and watching a chick emerge is just lovely to watch.
From the farm there are great views of the cotswold hills, just a great place to be on a sunny autumn day.

A very warm and sunny day, ideal for a walk in the Oxfordshire Countryside.
Thursday being a 'me day' I chose to drive out to Nuffield where I know of woods and a field where I could pitch my seat and enjoy the sights of singing Red Kites and floating Kestrels.
I was not disappointed, it was just so relaxing, practised and experimented with various settings on my new camera. Not all together successful but early days of using the camera. Only the second time in fact.
Also enjoyed a walk through the woods towards Henley, the sun shining through the branches and the Autumn colours made for a very uplifting walk.
Arrived home mid afternoon after a thoroughly enjoyable day out. Decided to finish the day by cooking dinner on the fire pit and enjoying a well deserved pint of NQB!

Busy day spent cutting back the bay tree, berberis shrub and buddleia shrub. Also shredded all of it and spread on the garden.
Tired me out as after resting about 6.30pm the next thing I knew it was 9pm. Must have needed the rest?
