Mild but overcast day.
Departed home at 10.30pm, arrived in Cookridge 17.00.
Staying with Margaret and Paul for a week for the annual family firework party and visits across the Dales.
Good to be here again, have visited the same week every year since 1972.

Mild and sunny, a pretty good day.
Shopping sorted, lawn cut, leaves swept and cases packed. Lake District and the Dales we are on our way. Back in two weeks folks.
Hopefully my internet issues will be sorted by then.

Tuesday 1st November 2016

A lot cooler today and very little sun.
So, today into town with phone and iPad, first to the Apple store. Again checked and both worked fine in the store.
Can only assume it is a home networking issue nice Mr. Apple man tells me.
Nothing to lose so also visited the Virgin store, same thing, worked fine so as nice Mr. Virgin man explained it must be a home networking problem.
As now away to the Dales and Lake District for ten days it will be at least two weeks before I make contact with Virgin, probably means a replacement box?
Bye for now, back in ten days.

A warm and sunny day with temp' reaching 22c this afternoon. Smashing day.

Spent day clearing up from last night and then mostly relaxed enjoying the Autumn sun and all the colours still to be seen in the garden not from flowers but the trees. 
Leaving the iPad trip into town until tomorrow so can enjoy this stunning weather.

Mild and reasonably sunny.
Very tired so did nothing this morning except chill. Did sort out the photographs from the weekends trip to Blackpool.
This afternoon arranged and organised bbq area of the garden ready for the annual neighbour Halloween party. Evening went well, weather stayed kind and all had a great time. After a few beers and sausages and the evening now dark it was time to light the fire and start the annual debates worthy of discussion! Another great night to end the bbq season.
           Unable to use the iPad or phone again so into town tomorrow I think?

Another mild day but again very dull, overcast and misty.
Chose today to visit the tower, had not appreciated just how good this structure was. One amazing building/structure. From the ornate brickwork and tiling to the ballroom decor and of course the intricate ironwork that is the tower. The glass floor is probably one of the scariest pursuits I have ever achieved. Makes the shard and spinnaker tower glass floors appear very tame after this. Walked to the very top where only rope netting separates you from the outside elements, also pretty scary.
Spent sometime in the ballroom, with the Wurlitzer my favourite musical instrument I was in my element.
Actually spent all day at the tower so will probably at some point will visit again.
Left Blackpool at 5pm arriving back home at 11pm after a most enjoyable 24 hour trip to Blackpool. Manic but good.

Friday 28th October 2016

A very mild but sadly rather dull and overcast.
Left Reading with Whitley Travels at 9am and arrived at the Savoy Hotel, Blackpool at 4.30pm for the start of the Illuminations trip.
Back on the coach again at 6.30pm for the three hour sightseeing trip along the golden mile. Actually took two and a half hours just to travel one way. It was one amazing night, can fully understand why the lights are on for only a short period as the cost must be astronomical. If there was a next time think I will organise myself so we could walk the golden mile.
Still, was all good and Claire did well on the organising.
tomorrow a day exploring Blackpool at leisure.
