Mild, dry but gale force winds return.
Christmas decorations packed away for another year. The tree uplighting I will pack away tomorrow.
Hopefully can start doing things I like tomorrow, should add however I have enjoyed the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
First job now is to make a start on my books.

Wednesday 3rd January 2018
Dry and sunny today but still gale force winds.
Cases unpacked, Morrisons shop sorted this morning. This afternoon managed to check out four of the trail cam SD cards. Nothing unusual, foxy was out each night. Clearly frightened of the noise from the wind and rain. Some interesting foxy movements.

Tuesday 2nd January 2018
Left hotel at 7.30am and arrived home at 3pm.
Weather atrocious, gale force winds and heavy rain for the whole trip.
No storm damage at home, just lots of twigs laying about. All the bird feeders now re-filled.
Tomorrow must check out the trail camera SD cards.

Monday 1st. January 2018
A mild, sunny beautiful day.
Enjoyed a long walk around St.Mawes this morning. This included a walk to the headland overlooking the harbour and town.
Stopped for lunch at the Rising Sun, a local pub overlooking the harbour. This afternoon I only managed a short walk as was feeling tired from this mornings long walk. Finished the afternoon sitting overlooking the harbour with my iPad checking out the photographs taken this weekend. Today's stunning weather was truly a bonus.
Enjoyed tonight's dinner and entertainment (another local singer), shame the break is at an end.
Now to pack the cases ready for a 7.30am start tomorrow.

Sunday 31st December 2017
Dry and mostly overcast today.
Enjoyed a day in Truro, what a magnificent city. Visited the cathedral before a walk around the city streets. Had no idea the cathedral was such a modern building, finished in 1910. As in most of our cathedrals the architecture and workmanship is something else.
Before leaving we enjoyed a late lunch on a boat in dry dock at the end of the canal in the city square.
Back at the hotel we soon settled with a drink overlooking the harbour before changing into our evening dress ready for the New Year celebrations.
Enjoyed a five course dinner, drinks and entertainment (a local singer) before joining the local community around the harbour for the firework display as the clock chimed 12 - HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Friday 29th December 2017
Wet and windy most of the day.
Day spent packing and re-setting trail cameras. All ready now for the Cornwall New Year break.

Saturday 30th December 2017
Very wet and windy.
Left home at 11am and arrived in St. Mawes, Cornwall at 8.15pm. What a loooong day. Weather pattern did not change for the whole trip.
Received a very warm welcome at the hotel and was not long before we felt settled and looking forward to the weekends celebrations.
We are here with Jill and Geoff who we have shared New Year with for some years now.
