Day on security matters, was rather hot work.
The young goldcrests continue to excite me as they bathe in the pond and the hedgehogs water bowl.
A replaced trail camera gave up some good results last night. A fox catching a starling and two hedgehogs feeding together.
Garden just full of butterflies but sadly know luck in photographing any.

Hot and sunny day.
Most of the day at the Action Mesothelioma Day for the national release of doves in the gardens at Abbots House.
So many people die of this dreadful asbestos disease each year and this is the way the Asbestos Support Group remember these unfortunate people. The Berkshire Group helped me last year which is why I continue to support the group at events like this and at the monthly meetings at the George Hotel.
The event concluded with afternoon tea at the Forburys.
Garden wildlife today was exciting. This morning and again tonight I watched baby goldcrests drinking and splashing about in the pond. The pond weed acted as a platform.
Tonight I have been watching a huge hedgehog. Amazing speed they move.
Very hot and sunny.
Lots of butterflies about again today. Never seen so many small and large whites as I have this year. Also small and large blues. My problem is they do not settle to allow for a photograph.
A young great spotted woodpecker woodpecker was in the garden again, appears to be just the one. Seem to have another brood of blackbirds, a few young ones about the last 48 hours.
A parakeet returned tonight, didn't feed for long, spent most of the time preening.
This afternoon the first of my items that will be used to improve the outdoor security arrived. Loathed to print any details but needless to say I have had to have a serious rethink how I store my gear.

Another day doing very little. Allowed me to spend a day finding as many bugs as possible to photograph. Some success.
Hopefully over the weekend I will start having recordings of hedgehogs and foxes. A trail camera is being delivered tomorrow, will not re-order anymore until we have agreed with the insurance company the claim details.
For the record: Leaks failed to turn up to replace the 8 fanlights.

Another day not doing much. A day to sit, relax and just watch the wildlife in the garden. So many butterflies but sadly no photographs. Dragonflies are still emerging but have missed the excitement, going by the casings left behind.
Managed a good photograph of the two young Jays drinking and bathing.
Missing the recordings of the hedgehogs and foxes. Hopefully next week I will have at least one trail camera replaced.
A productive meeting tonight of the Friends of Fobney. Rubbish is the biggest issue, the Council no longer empty the one bin. Enlisting help now from more volunteers to help.

Bit hot to do anything but did finish clearing up the mess the thieves created in the sheds. Dealing with the hidden cables is another issue I have to deal with in due course.
Good to see the young Jays feeding and drinking in the garden. Managed some fun images of the squirrel this afternoon.

Enjoyed an early morning walk at Fobney, not much water but plenty of wild flowers.

Birds finding it rather hot. Even the magpies were sunbathing with their beaks open. Lots of bees and butterflies about today. No dragonflies however.
