Sunday 21st October 2012

Another mild, dry day but a very wet evening.
Quality day starting with an early morning walk. So early in fact (6am) I was out to enjoy an Autumn Dawn Chorus and see the Crow's Flying Formation, spectacular. Rather dark the first hour hence dark pictures! There is still beauty at this time of morning.
Rest of the day spent on the Wildlife Project. Moved the ton weight 'Slimited' seat to another area so I can enlarge the wooded area. Disturbed a Hibernating Hornet but soon settled the buzzing insect in another spot. Next stage will be to level the ground incorporating area's for Foxy, Hedgehog etc.
Was good to see a varied selection of Fungi in the wooded area.

Saturday 20th October 2012

Mild, dry day. Couldn't be said for the evening however which proved very wet, again!
Most of the day spent at the Victorian Open Air Swimming Baths in Kings Meadow Road, Reading. A group of people have got together to try and raise money, profile and interest  to save this beautiful Victorian Building. RBC are not offering help as would prefer to demolish. There has been a significant amount of industrial sabatage (in my portfolio I have a selection of photographs) hoping to prove that this building is unfit for use. Nothing could be further from the truth and I am now putting my weight behind the 'Save the Swimming Bath' group. English Heritage have the building on their list of Building to save so this will add some weight to the cause.
All pictures are of the said Swimming Bath.

Friday 19th October 2012

A mild dry morning but the most dreadful afternoon. Very wet.
Despite the rain the day was spent further clearing at the Decking Area, managed to keep a fire going until 4pm when I decided enough was enough!

Thursday 18th October 2012

A pretty good day, dry and mild.
Most of morning spent on Decking Project. Further clearing found another area Foxy had been using. Hopefully once project completed I will see the return of all the Wildlife again.
Afternoon spent at the Hospital Audiology Dept having my Hearing Implants adjusted The technology available enables me to have a programe installed that allows me to hear Bird Sounds without any background noise disturbance. Brilliant to hear these sounds again.

Wednesday 17th October 2012

Mild and dry day until 6pm when the weather changed for yet more Rain. But Rain like I have never seen. Actually looked very misty due to the power of the rain.
Day spent removing remaining Deck Boards (not disturbing the Bees). All now de-screwed and stacked to be re-used as a path I will construct through the wooded area.
Pictures tomorrow as weather conditions stopped any photography.

Warm and Sunny day - an ideal day for the final few hours at No.25. Estate Agent was able to take advantage of the Sun and take some good pictures of the Bungalow. Sale going live tomorrow.
No tears were shed as I have never felt the Bungalow was home despite Mum & Dad living there for over 25 years.
Home to me was The House that Dad Built, taking nine years to build having to purchase just a few bricks at a time from Arborfield Brick & Tile Works. Many a Saturday morning I was asked to cycle to the yard with a stout bag and collecting a few bricks. This is only a small part of the picture, Dad was a Farmer and only had the odd night/weekend to work. I am lucky to have so many memories of growing up in the Fifties helping Dad on the Farm and Building the House.

Monday 15th October 2012

Another mild day.
Day spent at the Bungalow carrying out the final clean. Meeting Estate Agent tomorrow.
Was good to get back home, sit in my Armchair with a cuppa and admire the wonders of Birdlife at 479!  Good to see Woody return after a break of two months. A rather fat Female Blackbird appeared with White Tail Feathers. A chaffinch appeared to be showing off as never closed up the tail feathers. Gave the look of a fan!
I purchased a Spider Frame in order to watch Spiders create their Web to find this morning a Spider and Web a matter of inches away from the frame, hanging from the door frame!
