A mild but dull day, at least dry!
Day spent on the WDP. Outline Joists now in place and level so the intermediate Joists can now be fixed in place, job for next week as have a busy weekend walking.
As I purchase all Bird Food in bulk now I have a serious problem in keeping the food free from damp. Despite a sealed storage drawer unit outside the food still suffers. Think space in the Shed will have to be the answer.
Have also decided to invest in stainless steel feeders with top domes to keep the rain out as also wasting so much food from sodden food. Birds will be happy to eat from a wet lawn but not wet food from a feeder!
Interesting to see the Starlings using the Nest Box today, never stayed in the box for long but could be sounding out for the nesting season?
A brilliant day, dry, sunny and no wind/rain!
Day spent sorting out the levels for the Wildlife Decking Project (WDP). The plan is to create a raised decking area leaving about 24" for the Fox to move around without digging so leaving heaps of spoil. The Hedgehog Nesting Home (with camera) will also be housed under the decking with the tunnel entrance exposed for leaving Hog Food.
The Bumble Bee Nest is still very active despite the recent cold spell. This I will leave with an entrance exposed for these and any future Bees that may wish to nest.
There will also be a Fire Pit for the evenings we choose to stay out late with a Glass of Wine or Pint of Real Ale!
A Pathway will also be constructed through the Wooded Area where there will be Log Piles, Leaf Heaps and another two Hedgehog Homes.
A long term project, opening hopefully Mid February depending on Weather conditions!

Mild, sunny, dry Autumn day.
After the weekly morning shop I spent rest of the day in the garden. Bit of a tidy up of the Bamboo
I cut down yesterday when replacing the fence. Amazingly I cut one Bamboo Cane at 6mtrs.
Foxy has now dug under the studio so another problem in years to come! TC set now to catch the action.
Jays and Woody now fighting over the Monkey Nuts. Amazing moments watching the antics. Robinia Tree taking a hit though.

After a heavy overnight frost the day turned out pretty good. Dry at least!
Day spent at the RBH and Care Home with Mum. Not my kind of day.
Dry but on the Chilly side today.
Morning spent sweeping up Acer Leaves from the front lawn. Five large full sacks spread about the Branchery which will break down over winter.
Afternoon spent erecting a fence at the very bottom of the garden in the L/H corner to meet with the new fence bottom neighbs' recently erected.
Neil & Sarah popped over in the evening to see the Disc & Photographs of the Wedding that I managed. A good excuse to open another bottle of Bubbly!

" 2 - Interesting Foxy picture this. Taken on the area of garden I am working on the WDP and very close to the Bumble Bee Nest. I set the TC here as was aware of the ground being freshly scratched about by what I thought was Rats.
I think probably it is still Rats but Foxy has sounded them out and is looking for an evening meal?
Since destroying the Fox Den he has now dug under the Studio so the TC is now set there for any sign of activity.
A cold, sunny day but very wet under foot after overnight heavy rain.
Enjoyed a drive back through the heart of The New Forest. Stopped at Burley for a short walk and at Picket Post a stop for a few picts' of the Bracken.
Stopped at the New Inn in Heckfield for Sunday Dinner before arriving home late afternoon after a most enjoyable weekend. To Neil & Sarah our Very Best Wishes.

A good mild, sunny day until late afternoon when the rain started. Thankfully held of until the end of the Wedding Ceremony, the last few picts' taken as Neil & Sarah were about to drive away were in fact taken in the rain.
A delightful wedding and reception, good for us to meet the rest of Neil & Sarah's Family that we hear so much about.
Prior to the wedding we enjoyed a morning on Mudeford Sea Front. A beautiful morning in full sun, the young were out with their Crab Buckets and the Chaps were busy with their Kites! All good fun.
