A  cold, crisp, dry day, snow fell for 5 minutes this morning.
Planted out three berry producing bushes in the wildlife area of the garden.
Cut the Bay Tree back in width and height creating a space for the Triple Sparrow Nesting Box.

Friday 11th January 2013

Another brilliant Spring Day, made better by a few hours of Sun.
Day spent repairing/replacing the fire damaged decking.
               Quality 10 minutes watching a Male Sparrowhawk looking for prey at lunchtime. The Blue Tits (at least 3) were in the Burberis Bush which is very prickly, this gave the Birds good protection as it didn't matter how often the SH tried he missed every time. He tried to enter from the top, underneath and flying round the Bush. Was some sight.

May be winter but today was like a good Spring Day.
Day working on the Higher/Lower Decking Stairs, decided it required handrails hence the extra work.

         Squirrel has now taken a liking for the Monkey Nuts. This could be as a result of no Acorns forming this year.

Brilliant weather today, dry, mild and sunny. Rain due on Friday now so will make most of tomorrow!
               Only 48 hours after moving the Sparrow Nest Box the Great Tits have taken over. Not shown in the photograph but there was one in each home at one point. Yesterday the Crows started building a nest, think the Birds are in for a shock if we do get cold, frosty or snow conditions?
                 Have invested in a gizmo that transfers photograph slides on to the laptop. All my photographs in the seventies were taken on slides. Had fun today looking at the wedding photographs my Uncle took using my camera.
Going to have fun tonight looking at the pictures of 479 when we bought it in 1972.
                  Afternoon with Mum, nuff said.

Tuesday 8th January 2013

A  mild, dry day. Rain by the evening however.
                  Very disappointed with printing results, lines at 12mm distance across the photograph paper.
Called in at PC World (where I bought the printer 3 years ago) to be told the Printer Head is at fault and parts no longer available. So infuriating, products not built to last these days.
Googled the part and again told, not available.
Thinking now to use Photobox or Jessops for further printing.
Can't believe the whole day taken over by a faulty printer.

Monday 7th January 2013

A further mild, dry day. Rain forecast by the end of the week however.
              Town in the morning buying Mounts for the Picture Frames.  I will need to cut my own glass however. 
Met Wifelet at Cafe Rouge for lunch and a pint. Once home I ordered a Glass Cutting Knife from Amazon, due to be delivered on Thursday.
Frames that are now complete I hung on the 'Hall Photograph Wall'. Looking good.

Sunday 6th January 2013

Another mild Spring like day, brilliant.
             Spent morning making further Picture Frames, town tomorrow to purchase Mounts and Glass.
              Afternoon spent out in the garden. Fixed a further two Nesting Boxes and re-positioned the Sparrow Hotel.
Birds are very active, think the mild weather has confused them. Crows in fact were breaking off Silver Birch Twigs and taking them to a tree over the road.
