Another good Spring day. Dry, sunny with a slight chill.
Day and overnight stopover in London ready for early start from Kings Cross tomorrow for Scotland holiday.
Enjoyed an Indian meal on the Grays Inn Road early evening.

Thursday 9th May 2013

What a terrible day, showers with 50 mph winds. No flowers on the fruit trees now. Plants ripped out of the baskets, sunflowers snapped and the beauty of the flowering cherry now over for another year after just 3 days in full flower.
Looking forward now to a break in Scotland, all packed and ready to go.

Weather on the change, mild, windy and showery.
Morning in town buying clothes for impending holiday in Scotland.
Wind already caused issues with fruit tree blossom, disheartening.

Made the most of today's glorious weather. Rest of the week not looking good with strong winds forecast on Thursday.
A very lazy day, reading and watching pond activity.

Monday 6th May 2013

Warm and sunny, a beautiful day doing nothing but relaxing and enjoying the garden views and bird activity. 
Forgot to mention yesterday that I heard the Cuckoo for the first time this year. Really appreciating the high tech' hearing aids.
                     Once again meals were eaten outside. Evening meal cooked on the new bbq/fire bowl. 
The Mullens arrived home from Plymouth late afternoon and joined us for evening drinks. Leilani  came forth in the National Diving Championships held in Plymouth. Very proud girl showing her silver engraved plate. Photographs tomorrow.

Sunday 5th May 2013

The most stunningly beautiful day.
Day started with an early morning walk to Southcote Lock. So pleased to see once again the Grey Wagtail after an absence of two years. The pair of Mandarin Ducks was also a pleasure to see. An hour walk went into two hours with so much activity.
                     With the weather so warm and the greenhouse on the hot side I decided to remove the strongest of the plants to outside. Mindful of any late frosts however.
                     Meals today were outside making use of the two sitting areas of the garden.

Saturday 4th May 2013

Another stunning day, slight chill to previous days however.
Good to entertain Brian and Carol for the day. Lorna as ever produced a wonderful spread. Most of the day spent reminiscing back to our childhood days. We are now the next oldest Turner generation.
