Hot and sunny.
Loathed to explain in detail what happened here in the early hours of the morning. Can confirm the scumbags returned. A major incident with the police dog unit involved. We are ok which is the main thing.
Sadly this will be my last blog. In a few months I hope to be back on FB/Twitter.

Hot and sunny.
Checked out one SD card today, with over 3000 images it took a fair while. Did show three hedgehogs which is good news. The pair of foxes were out each night, no other surprises.
Was out tonight for a celebratory dinner at the London Street Brasserie, on returning home it was pleasing to see a couple of hummingbird hawk moths.

Hot and sunny.
A long time getting home after a good few days away in Derbyshire. Left hotel at 9am, arrived home 4pm. Traffic horrendous.
Clearly the heat is affecting food intake of birds, foxes and hedgehogs. Not much eaten during the past week.
Look forward now to checking out the two trail cam' SD cards.

Hot and sunny day.
Two contrasting experiences today. This morning a drive through Hope Valley to the Ladybower reservoir. Water at 60% which is surprising considering so little rain in recent months. Water level was of course well below the top level of the two plugs which discharges water into the River Derwent when reservoir is full.
Enjoyed a good walk through woodland before lunch at the Ladybower Inn.
This afternoon enjoyed a very interesting time at a cutlery factory just minutes away from Ladybower actually.
Not any old cutlery factory but the Mr. David Mellor factory. DM is as famous for his design of the UK traffic light, letter box, bus shelter, waste bins, street lamps and bollards as he is for designing all things cutlery.
The factory itself is built on the foundations of a gasometer, the factory complex is on land previously used by the fad industry.
A most fascinating and interesting afternoon.

Very warm and sunny.
Day spent at Hardwick Old Hall and current Hardwick Hall. Magnificent, what some history, what some architecture. I found the whole experience today mind boggling, history aside the craftsmen of all trades from candle makers to stone masons were just 100% full on in expertise. We are talking 15th century for goodness sake! What a contrast to 60's buildings of today that are being pulled down as deemed unsafe?
Weather looking good again tomorrow so a drive out to Ladybower and Derwent Water beckons.

Very warm and sunny.
Today spent at Crich Road Transport Museum. Mostly consisting of trams. Really was an interesting day out which included as many trips as you liked on the tramway network set out in an old quarry. Experienced wonderful views of the Derbyshire countryside and with the harvesting season upon us it made the views even more interesting and beautiful.
Also had time to explore the maintenance and restoration sheds. A very interesting day out.
This evening met up with a friend I last saw at her wedding in 2001. Someone I used to work with many decades ago, starting work straight from school as a 17 year old and we have stayed friends ever since. A wonderful evening spent mostly reminiscing.
Images 3 & 4 - A laugh at my expense? I was bursting for the loo so was pretty pleased to find this one. On leaving I was politely told it was a museum piece and the loos were next door in the pub!!

Very warm and sunny day.
Start of a few days holiday in Derbyshire, staying in an old mill at Old Tumpton. Picked a goodun, only been here a couple of hours and already feel like one of the locals.
