Wednesday 12th December 2018

Very cold and sunny.
Attended a funeral today at the Acorn Ridge Natural Burial Ground at Hampstead Marshall. Afterwards at the Village Hall. A lovely area of the countryside, ideally suited for Rachel's funeral. RIP Rachel.

Tuesday 11th December 2018

Another cold and sunny day.
Checked out three days of trail cam' SD cards. The pair of foxes were out each night, at least two hedgehogs still out and thankfully feeding.
Mice and now young rats now sharing the hedgehog food.
The three squirrels are becoming a nuisance now, fun to watch but tired of having to re-plant bulbs, particularly the snowdrops.

Monday 10th December 2018

Cold and sunny, a good winters day.
Out for the day. A river trip from Runnymede to Richmond which included a Christmas dinner and a visit from Santa, oh what fun!
On the return trip I was lucky to experience the sunset, it was superb.
Being out today I am unsure of wildlife activity.

Sunday 9th December 2018

Can you believe it, a beautiful day. Mild and sunny.
A visit to Henry Street this morning to stock up on hedgehog food. Can't believe how much was eaten this week.
This afternoon I checked out over 6000 trail camera images. 😅 Some interesting images. Pair of foxes and at least two hedgehogs about. Rats and mice and an almighty fight between two foxes like I have never captured before.

Saturday 8th December 2018

What weather, wet and Gale force winds.
Left the bungalow at 9.30am, blown home at 4 pm. What a journey again.
Can't wait now to see the garden tomorrow and what has been happening while away?

Friday 7th December 2018

Mild and blustery day until tonight. The weather changed dramatically. Gale force wind and rain like never experienced before.
With the food festival still on, tonight as part of the festival was the grand fireworks display at the Harbour. We arrived 2.5hours before the start and believe it or not every car park was full. With the weather changing dramatically it was decided to abort the mission and head for our favourite local pub, the Cornish Arms. Pints of Proper Job and a good steak was the next best thing to fireworks!
Has been a good holiday, home tomorrow.

Thursday 6th December 2018.

Mild but spoilt by showers this afternoon.
In Padstow early this morning so we were in with a chance to park the car. The food and drink festival today which always attracts thousands of visitors.
Walked part of the Camel Trail overlooking Padstow and Harbour, stopped at Greens for morning coffee. Greens enjoy the best view of Padstow, a prime spot.
The festival was superb as you would expect. Bought plenty of food goodies like cheese, pies, sausages and crab. Also purchased drink which included some new beers from St.Austall Brewery and a few favourites like Proper Job.
Finished the day with another meal at the Cornish Arms.
Another good day. Forecast tomorrow is very wet so may write our Christmas Cards!?
