Tuesday 31st December 2013
Windy, chilly and plenty of heavy showers.
Following an early breakfast we made our way cross country to Bakewell. Driving through villages that meant so much to me all those years ago brought a lump to my throat. Even passed the pub in Normanton where my leaving 'do' was held back in 1994.
The rain just about help off for the walk around Bakewell. Bought a traditional Bakewell Tart before heading back to Derby ready for our NY celebrations. With time in the afternoon to do as we please Jill and Lorna went to the Westfield Centre for a spot of shopping while we went for a walk in Derby old town including the Cathedral and the Heritage Centre.
