Thursday 13th October 2016

Mild, sunny but a little overcast at times.
Day spent shredding the twiggy bits of the willow tree. Two huge bags full now spread on the garden.
Layered more of the willow fence, have run out of material now until I carry out further lopping of the willow tree.
Watching through last nights trail cam footage I noticed a hedgehog in a space close to the pond. On closer inspection this afternoon I found what is clearly its hibernation quarters. Would never had known if not for the trail cam.
Good to see the jay returning to the garden, been very few birds about lately on the feeders. Busy still enjoying the berries.
