Saturday 13th April 2013
Mixed weather, mild, showers and fair amount of sun.
Day spent clearing / preparing greenhouses ready for the planting of the hanging baskets. A job scheduled for tomorrow.
A typical DIY job of trying to hang 15 pretty heavy baskets, a long rod, some string, some wood, simples!

" 2 - 4 - End of the garden now taking shape with spring bulbs now showing. Just require a little sun and it all happens.
Friday 12th April 2013
On the cool side with rain most of the day.
Mixed emotions, bungalow no longer ours. Sold today to the next door neighbour. Handed keys over at 11am.
Despite the wet conditions I spent afternoon planting more Bee / Butterfly friendly plants.
Looking forward to the weekend now with warmer conditions forecast.

Thursday 11th April 2013
A chilly start to the day, sun making an appearance late afternoon.
Weekly shop during the morning. Henry Street in afternoon for dustbins to hold bulk bird seed and a few more Bee & Butterfly friendly plants.
Enjoyed a pint of Hooky Ale & Venison Pie at The Leathern Bottle late afternoon.
Good to see Frog Spawn but a little worried as once again we have frost forecast this weekend.

Wednesday 10th April 2013
Another lovely day but what a wet evening. Believe it or not the garden was pretty desperate for rain. Surprising how dry the ground had become.
Day spent de-cluttering the useful room, think I will have to open an ebay account?
Good to see both the Male & Female Blackcap feeding from rotten apples, hopefully they will nest nearby.

Tuesday 9th April 2013
A lovely spring day, sadly spent working indoors.
White goods now housed in the Bar, not ideal but needs must. I will get used to it. Still some work to do, amazed how much 'stuff' we accumulated in the useful room. Still a drawer unit and double base unit to deal with.
Spotted a Frog in the pond, surprised not to see more. With warmer weather forecast I should expect more activity.
Sparrowhawk arrived again for his lunch, regular visitor now.

Monday 8th April 2013
Another dry pretty mild day, not so much sun however as of late.
More papers to sign this morning at the solicitor.
Rest of the day moving white goods into the new position in the Bar.

Another superb day with plenty of sun although was a little more chilly today.
Morning spent at a Somerset Hamlet called Staith where the RSPB & WWT are working on the Great Crane Project. The Cranes can be seen here in the wild within the Somerset Levels. Each spring eggs are collected from east Germany and transported to the breeding unit at Slimbridge. Once hatched and the young birds are 12 weeks old they are moved for release at the enclosure on Somerset Levels. After a few more weeks they are then released into their new life in the wild.
That is the good news, the very bad news was seeing seven dead Badgers this morning while driving the country lanes of Somerset. All on the verge and not showing signs of road kill. Is this something to do with the Cull I wonder?
After a good Pub lunch we left for home arriving early evening.
Spooky - Landlady came from Bracknell. A couple also eating originated from Leeds and brought up in the Village Lorna's Sister lives. This couples Son now lives in Reading.
