A very warm day, a good day for trimming the Ivy Hedge and cutting the Lawns. with the tidying up this took all day to complete.
Wasted a few moments taking pictures of the Rats feeding from the Bird Feeder. Not sure how many Rats about, Cats have already caught three that I have seen!

Thursday 30th August 2012

A warm blustery day, at least dry!
Shredding now over for another year, shreddings will be spread about the borders during the Autumn Months.
Enjoyed a good meal at the Highwayman lunchtime with Nigel and Lyn. Hoppit was on tap so I was well happy as this is one of my favourite beers from the Loddon Brewery.
Nigel also has a Mother who is 92 and giving cause for concern. We are both under enormous pressure as a 'Home' is off limits with both Mothers!
Neighbs' Cat caught another Rat today so hopefully by the weekend we will see the end of the Pests?
Amazing scene this morning to see three Magpies ground feeding with the Doves. Although not pictured, yesterday I saw two Magpies eating from the Peanut Feeder.

Cold and wet for most of the day. Managed only an hours shredding.
Rest of the day spent indoors reading on detail for the upgrade of my outdoor camera equipment.

A dry warm day, ideal for the start of this Autumn's Pruning. Mostly done now, just all the shredding now.
Less poison was eaten last night so perhaps the end is in sight for this batch of Rats.

Monday 27th August 2012

A pretty miserable day, cold and showery.
Family left at 11.30am after a brilliant couple of days, really enjoyed the company as we always do.
Rest of the day clearing up, bedromms sorted etc. Sun did venture out for a while pm which brought out the Bees, Butterflies and sadly Rats!
Pictures are of Woody enjoying a further meal of Monkey Nuts!

Sunday 26th August 2012

Another warm and sunny day. Today spent at the Swallowfield Show. A brilliant day out, visitors loved it. Bumped into Lorna's Cousin Rosemary and Hubs. Tanya and Rosemary had not seen each other for about 15 years so an emotional meet.
Tanya tried her hand at Buck Riding! Lizz and William at Bow and Arrows. More practice required. In  the main arena there was always something to see, Marines, Dog Racing, Horse Riding, Morris Men, Gymnastics etc to name a few acts. Lunch saw us munching through a Hog Bap + Trimmings with a good Pint and ice cream for afters.
An early evening drink on the decking was enjoyed * before leaving for an evening at the Heron On The Lake with Lulu and Clive.
* We were entertained by a Dragonfly for some 15 minutes flying around the decking and landing on a deck post.

Saturday 25th August 2012

A pretty good day, warm & sunny for the most part.
After a hearty English Breakfast we all drove to Windsor where we enjoyed a boat trip on the Thames passing Eton College and Windsor Racecourse.
This was followed by Pie and Drink lunch in Alexandra Park. Pies bought in a local shop in the High Street.
Afternoon spent shop hopping in the High Street and the 'Old' Railway Station. Lorna spent some money on a bag which caught her eye. Finished the afternoon with an ice cream then the fun started! On walking back to the car park there was a ten minute thunderstorm, amazing. One minute sun, then the storm. Sheltered in a shop where we bumped into David Lister and Family.
On arriving home it was still warm and sunny so finished the afternoon with a drink on the new decking area.
At 6.30pm headed of to the Cunning Man where we enjoyed a good evening meal.
A good day was had by all.

Friday 24th August 2012

Warm, muggy day with showers during the afternoon. Sadly nothing to report as further day housekeeping!
Looking forward now to the Yorkshire Folk arriving late tonight. Pity the weather if going to be iffy over the weekend.
Last week at the Birdfair I joined BTO (rather than the RSPB) and today a brilliant book arrived 'Garden Birds and Garden Wildlife' as a thank you for joining. Have joined the Monthly On Line Garden Bird Count with my first count commencing on September 1st.

Sorry, no pictures today.

Good warm day getting the house ready for the weekends visitors. With Lorna unwell it was left to me to Hoover, didn't appreciate how many carpets we had!!
Very distressing time with my Mother during the afternoon which didn't help my day.
Trail Camera captured some good Foxy picts' last night, good to see him looking healthy.
