Another lovely day, spent in Swell Wood at Fivehead admiring the young Herons being looked after by the adults. Over the years there have been up to 150 mating pairs in this woodland. This year has seen 89 mating pairs making for a remarkable sight. The RSPB did well in setting up Scopes focused on the young in their nest and left a number of Bins in the hide for public use.
Also took the opportunity to enjoy a walk through the wooded area watching adults flying to a local lake for food. When flying back the noise from the young was deafening.
A truly an amazing and enjoyable day.
