Wednesday 10th December 2014
A chilly, sunny day. A weather bomb is about to hit the UK apparently later this week, not heard that term before.
Tony and Heather spent the best part of the day with us. Good to catch up, most of the time discussing ones ailments!
While here a Sparrowhawk appeared on the fence. Tony/Heather had not seen such a bird before and what happened after about twenty minutes watching? A Sparrow flew in front of the Hawk and in a split second the Sparrow was caught. An amazing sight, I had not seen a bird caught in mid air before.
Enjoyed an evening drinking at the local with some local Whitley Boys. Used to be eight of us meeting up at this time of year, down to just the three of us now. Sadly two died this year so much of the evening was spent talking about Ian and Mick. RIP Boys.
Pictures 1 - 3 - Sparrowhawk.
" 4 - Stocked up with monkey nuts and sunflower hearts.
