Wednesday 4th February 2015

Very cold day with temp' only reaching 4c mid afternoon. The sun made an appearance during late morning.
After the Morrisons run this morning I spent rest of the day in my workshop doing a bit of a spring clean after a month picture framing.
Pair of Starlings spent a fair amount of time in the nest box, at one point taking in some rubbish. Not sure what, certainly not nesting material so wondered if some sort of courting ritual?
The overseas Blackbirds appear to have moved on. Have four male Blackbirds and one female as regulars now.

A shocking night, at 6pm a young lad was knocked from his bike and was clearly seriously injured. An ambulance was in the traffic so was on the scene within seconds and with a nurse living two doors down the poor lad thankfully was soon in good hands. An ambulance car was also sent for to aid and worked on the lad for over an hour on the road. These instances brings home to you just how careful you have to be whether a driver, pedestrian, cyclist or biker. Just hope this lad pulls through ok.
