What a cracking day. Very mild, some sun and not a bit of wind. Was this really Scotland?
Hired car was on the doorstep at 10am, Focus car hire really are a good company to do business with. Have used them for four years now.
By 11am we were at the base of the Cairngorms mountain range and excited for the funicular train trip to the summit. What a cracking day for such a trip. It blew my mind away, never seen views like, such a clear day. Just wish I could walk better these days as so frustrated I was unable to walk them hills!
Was good to sit outside and enjoy the views all the same.
The Loch at the base was so still it reminded me so much of Norway. The reflections were magnificent.
This afternoon paid a visit to the Reindeer centre and farm as we were in the area before enjoying a short walk through one of the many forests surrounding Aviemore.
Arrived at the Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown on Spey late afternoon which will be home for five days.
Good talk tonight on what wildlife to expect this time of year. Booked an early morning guided walk before visiting Boat of Garten in the afternoon. Fingers crossed for another good day weather wise.
