Sunday 8th May 2016

What another cracking day. Very warm and sunny.
Once breakfast was over Yvonne was out with her pond dipping net! Could not believe it, first scoop and there was this green nymph. Never seen one before so one to look up. Rest of the scoops showed up loads of dragonfly nymphs so someone was very happy with the net results this morning.
Lunchtime enjoyed a meal and drink at the Cunning Man. Good job I booked as was so busy and a very long queue forming it was clear there would have been a long wait.
Once lunch over we enjoyed a fabulous walk along the canal and barge city. Just brilliant. Plenty of butterflies about, this is what summer is all about.
On reaching home it was a cuppa before visitors had to leave for the long drive back home but not before there was one more bit of excitement. A goldcrest flew down in front of us drinking from the watering can. Yvonne and Iain had never seen one so it was a fitting end to a brilliant weekend.
