Saturday 3rd December 2016
Cold, frosty with sun most of the day.
Day spent in the garden sweeping up the bean tree leaves. Thought I had finished this task, surprising how much was still on the garden. The leaves are huge so unwise to leave over winter. Now in the compost bin. Two large sacks.
Trail cameras are still picking out two hedgehogs each night, eating so much food which clearly is good news. There appears to be a resident rat which I think now is holding out in my timber shed. A huge mound of earth has appeared inside from a tunnel under the concrete block floor. Think will leave the door open for a few days so the cats can flush it/them out.
Bird food really shifting now, lots of assorted birds as mentioned previously are in the garden every day now. Need to look out for the winter visitors now like the black cap.
Monitor back working again, just a blip I think as did nothing. Burst into life overnight. Relief.
