Saturday 19th May 2012

Another good day, pretty warm all day.
Enjoyed a walk early this morning along the Kennet & Avon Canal. Wild Flowers at their best, Ducks hatched and great Reflections. Love walks like this.
Arranged my Hanging Basket work station ready for the start on Monday. Will be about 40 Baskets and Tubs altogether. Some task but one I have done for some 25 years now.
Magpie caused even further upset with the Jay this morning, thought we were going to see a kill but Jay in the end flew over the house to the front. Was always a back garden Jay so not sure what will happen now. After this the Magpies then sent down the young and started feeding them with fat from the fat block. Never seen this before.
Collected the two trellis panels from Henry Street. On the way noticed a sign on the Roundabout advertising half price garden hardwood furniture at Swallowfield Village Hall. Thought would give it a go and by jove what a find. Ended up buying a Hardwood Dining Table, four Reclining Chairs and a Canopy. Never bought like this before but no money was asked for, pay on delivery so all good. Just hope it turns up now, promised Wednesday.
Butterflies looking good now, wings showing in all their beauty, still one to hatch however. The four will be released into the garden tomorrow.
