Friday 8th November 2013
Another brilliant day, not so sunny but enough light to show off the stunning beech tree colours.
Morning spent at Chapel le Dale to take in the delights of the 24 arch Ribblevale Viaduct which takes the Settle to Carlisle railway line. Have seen it so many times over the years, have travelled on the line in a Steam Train but have never stopped to take in the history of this amazing viaduct. Once again finished the walk at a pub, the Hill Inn for a good pint and ploughman's.
On way home stopped at the Strid on the Duke of Devonshire Estate. The Strid is an area of woodland on a stretch of the river Wharfe, also famous of course for Bolton Abbey. Enjoyed afternoon tea and scone at the Cavendish Tea Room on the estate.
