Tuesday 3rd December 2013

Another chilly, dry but overcast day.
Interesting morning - surprised to see an Angleshade Moth on the door handle of the C4 this morning. Should be resting at this time of year, weather is still reasonably mild so probably nothing to worry about.
This was bizarre - I was busy taking photographs of Woody sounding out the Woodpecker nesting box when without provocation a Dove flew in and landed on poor woody. With Woody in shock, fluttered to the ground clearly unhappy. By the time I had unlocked the door to go and check, Woody had recovered and flown away. Not sure what was behind this?
Afternoon spent with June and Cecil, very sad to see Cecil suffering in old age with dementia. Have many happy memories of times with them both at family parties over the past decades. Very grateful for their offer of the holiday cottage on Hayling Island and of course the use of a chauffeur and limo at our wedding.
