A bitterly cold and windy start to the holiday.
Boarded M/V Azores ship at 11am and was settled and relaxed by 2pm after the welcome and compulsorily safety demonstration.
Look forward now to the trip which includes visits to Dublin, Iceland, Faroes Islands, Shetland Isles, Orkney Islands and Outer Hebrides. Of course expect to see the Solar Eclipse and Northern Lights.
The ship Azores is the oldest cruise ship in operation, built in 1944. Ship is unique by today's standards but which gives this vessel a warm, homely and friendly feel. Full history is available on google and a book was published some years ago.
Enjoyed a welcome drink and show tonight along with a presentation on the first port of call at Dublin.
A great start to the holiday.
