Friday 8th June 2018

Very warm and sunny all day and well into the evening.
Day spent in the garden having a good tidy up. Lawns cut, Rose border weeded, pots and baskets watered and flowering fern plants re potted into larger pots.
Very little in the way of wildlife today. Not a sign of swifts, no damselfly activity, no moths or bees in the moth trap.
What I did photograph was a female great spotted woodpecker, great news this as not seen for some while. Trail camera picked out a song thrush and a starling on the bird bath. Trail camera  also picked out a mouse using a mouse house I made and placed in the bird food store. Just the one fox and hedgehog it appears this week.
Now for a very busy weekend ahead. Devon tomorrow then entertaining 10 old folk from around the region for afternoon tea on Sunday. Something we have been doing for some years now.
