Saturday 9th November 2013

My word, what has happened. Mild maybe but so wet. It is pouring. Not to be outdone I am all weathered up and went on my annual local walk to Pauls Pond in the village of Adel. I have walked this walk every year since the early 70's. Back then it was just a wild wood with no defining pathways but now is well managed as a nature reserve with the pond cleared and now hosts a superb range of Ducks and Geese! While everyone else were cosied up indoors I was thoroughly enjoying myself in very wet conditions with enough light to still offer brilliant tree colours.
The afternoon was spent helping build the fire ready for the evenings family fire/firework party. Really good to see everyone again, the girls did a good job with the food while the blokes made sure the fire was kept alight and many thanks to William for a great job dealing with the fireworks. Thankfully the wet weather eased and gave us a dry evening.
