Wednesday 11th April 2012
As yesterday, despite the forecast of heavy showers we actually enjoyed another warm sunny day with temp' this afternoon reaching 16c. However at 17.50 it completely changed, temp' dropped somewhat to 11c, thunderstorm, dark clouds, hail, heavy rain and above all, sun.
Moving Bricks this week upset me big time so did nothing today. Enjoyed a quality hour chatting to my Friends at Lavers. Good to catch up with the Gossip!
Spending time sitting and watching did not dissapoint. An incredible situation with two Female Reed Bunting (correct me if I am wrong Boyo, thanks) having a massive scrap. Sadly they chose to fight in the middle of my building work so not the best pictures. While I was focusing the camera one of the Birds was upside down being pecked like crazy. Managed to escape to the Rose Arch and there it stayed for some ten minutes.
Said it before but am amazed at the number of Starlings on the feeder when country wide they are a Bird in short supply!
Beth out of Hospital today. Mum Wendy posted a lovely message on Facebook tonight to indeed a brave Girl. With 35 stitches required to remove the tumour it gives you some idea of size. The tumour has been sent to America for test results as for some reason experts in the UK are unsure.
Picture 1 - Marmite Special to celebrate a certain event this year!
" 2 - Taken from indoors during tonights Storm.
" 3 - A lone Tulip in this afternoons Sun. I say lone as the only one of this colour, not sure where this has come from. Not seen other years. Like the Lord and Ladies, have seen more in the garden now.
Pictures 4, 5 & 6 - Pair Female Reed Bunting in a scrap.

Sorry Pump. These are dunnocks not reed buntings. Dunnocks are one of the few birds in Britain that do not form pairs ever. Even if you see two together, they are not a pair. They go around gang banging each other, fighting and mating like right ones. Pretty well what you saw eh?
