Saturday 7th October 2017

A mild and sunny Autumnal day. Loved it.
Day in the garden. Trimmed and shredded the forsythia shrub, made incredible growth this year. Now trained against the trellis giving the fig and ceanothus shrubs a chance to thrive.
Sadly only the one hedgehog showing up last night. Getting worried now it was a hog the fox took out but why didn't it scream? Still keeping my fingers crossed that it has just gone awol. The fox cubs and hedgehogs really did appear to get on so well.
Lovely to see a red admiral flying about in the Autumn sun, sadly no photograph. Insects, mostly ladybirds very active in the garden clearly looking for winter hiding places.
The one jay was active again today along with countless blue tits and goldfinches. Blackbirds also appearing now after the summer lull.
