Friday 8th January 2016

First frost of the year and only the second of the winter season. Woke to a temp' of 2c, a marked difference to 10c we have experienced of late.
The rest of the day was pretty good with a fair amount of sun but oh dear, as I write this at 9.30pm it is pouring. Not looking good for the weekend.
Bit of electrical work this morning. Santa bought us a wine glass chandelier for the dining room, absolutely whacky. Not so easy to install as difficult to find a fixing in the ceiling, job done now though and it looks brilliant.
This afternoon a trip to Henry Street for four paving slabs I require to lay on the lawn under the bird feeder. Wasting so much seed at the moment as have had to unscrew the trays from the feeders as in the wet periods it becomes very messy. At least with slabs I can sweep up and re-use.
Forgot to mention HS didn't have any! Drove on to B & Q and they didn't either. I suppose not the time of year for laying paving slabs?
Same number of birds about today with the wren making an appearance. Sadly no further news on who is nicking the hedgehog food. Still no sign of the missing bowls, it really is a puzzle this. I do know for sure it is not a hedgehog taking the food, my money is on the squirrel?

Picture is the wine glass chandelier.
