Thursday 12th October 2017

What a cracking day. Warm and sunny all day with temp' reaching 18c this afternoon.
Day spent in the garden, today producing a replacement woodpecker/drey nesting box. Whoever gets there first I guess. Tufty took over the previous one. Have fitted a camera so a days work now securing to the tree sleeving the cable before connecting to the monitor.
Disappointed at the number of moths showing lately, only two last night. Have the trap set close to the ivy hedge so can't do anymore. National Moth day/night today so fingers crossed for a result tonight. Will leave on until midnight I think.
The woodland bird feeder trail cam' is not showing the infamous gold crest yet but did show other surprises. A pigeon, jay, woodpecker and a squirrel.
Great to see a mouse back in the box, rats now history for a while. Just been watching the mouse now, I'm over the moon with this as the rats took over all through the Spring and Summer.
Amazed at the number of parasol fungi in the garden and alpine house this year. Scrummy on toast.
