Friday 7th July 2017

Blimey, another hot day with temp' reaching a high of 27c this afternoon. 40c in the alpine house.
Another day not doing much. Did walk up to the community centre for a cuppa early this morning. First visit since April so some catching up required.
Rest of the day relaxing in the garden, mostly around the pond. Early this morning watched another southern hawker emerge and fly with at least two more ready that were clinging to the ivy overhanging the pond. What a year.
Garden buzzing with bees and butterflies again but very few birds.
Tracker, the resident racing pigeon which is now in its third week in the garden now is from Hebden Bridge Yorkshire.
Spoke with the son of the owner this afternoon. Sad story actually. His father is in the advanced stages of dementia and unable to understand or equate to his racing interests hence not all his pigeons are returning home.
Will keep in touch with the son now, have already emailed photographs.
Last night thought I would have a session in the hide as not been able to access until now. Not in there long as main camera covered with a spider web! Will have another session tonight.
