Wednesday 5th July 2017

Very, very warm and sunny. Beautiful day.
Dragonflies busy emerging from the pond again today. Have seen emerging and flying off 17 now. How many have I missed I wonder?
Swifts may have disappointed me again this year but the dragonflies have made up for that disappointment.
The pied wagtail are on their second brood, feeding young today on sunflower hearts.
The two young jays busy feeding from the garden again, mostly on monkey nuts now they have mastered how to break open the shell.
Young blackbirds also being fed, this also a second successful brood. Nesting in the bay tree.
No moths in the moth trap again but plenty about if you have your eyes peeled.
More giant spiders disturbed when moving some pots in the alpine house.
Another good day for garden wildlife I'd say?
