Saturday 8th February 2014

Gale force winds, another 18mm of rain so far today. In between showers and hail we enjoyed some good sunny periods.
Average outdoor temp' 9c.
Wind speed, gale force.
Paul the decorator has made a good start. Wallpaper stripped, a difficult job as so many layers to remove! Mice have enjoyed living in the room since I last decorated in Feb' 2001. A newspaper I left behind the shelf unit had been chewed to create a mouse house!
A wonderful sunrise and the Spotted Woody on the Robinia Tree made for a brilliant photograph. Sadly no pict's posted tonight as IPad not cooperating.
Reading now in a serious situation with flooding covering most of the area and surrounding districts. Four walkers and a dog were rescued from Fobney this afternoon. A cat was also rescued from the area. The army have also been called in tonight to help prevent the electric sub station that serves most of Reading is under threat of being flooded tonight.
Photographs tomorrow.
