Sunday 11th October 2015

Not so much sun today but mild and dry. Hard to believe this is Scotland and as yet no sign of frost. Everywhere so green and lush.
Enjoyed a guided walk this morning that wasn't guided. Guide failed to turn up. Six of us from the hotel who fancied a walk created our own five mile walk through the local pine forest. Highlight was seeing three red squirrels, cold tits, long tailed tits, wrens, crested tits and a fire crest.
This afternoon visited Loch Garten, so different without the Ospreys. The loch was as still as you could get it making for more brilliant reflections. On the short drive to the loch I spotted a steam train way in the distance. Stopped at the next convienient layby and waited, was not disappointed. Cracking photograph.
Have booked a landrover Safari trip tomorrow taking us into unknown terratory where there will be a chance to see Golden Eagles.
The hotel have also organised such a trip in a different area for the Tuesday.
Unable to post photographs so will create a folder of holiday picts' for next week on our return.
