Thursday 22nd May 2014

Very warm but windy day.
Departed Inverie after breakfast for a visit to the Island of Eigg. Some beautiful scenery en route. The Island measures only 5 miles by 3 miles but boasts a wide variety of extensive moorland, forest, hazel scrub with a diverse range of wildlife.
Took advantage of a local with a mini bus to take us on a trip using the 13 miles of very bumpy single track roads. No police, no garages for servicing or fuel, no pub but do have a royal mail van! Man with mini bus also collects the seven children each day for trip to school. An amazing Island.......
The afternoon was spent sailing to Tobermory arriving late afternoon. Enjoyed another walk before settling down for evening meal on board ship. Tobermory has only 1000 residents being the largest village on Mull. A village again full of interesting history.
Berthed overnight in Tobermory, experienced a most beautiful sunset.
Sorry, photographs back to front. Visited Eigg before Tobermory.
