Thursday 29th May 2014

Very warm day (almost hot).
What a wicked day this was. Morning at Loch Garten and the RSPB Osprey Centre. Thanks Barbara to this introduction.
The Osprey story here at Garten is astonishing having first bred here in the sixties.
This year three eggs hatched but were only days old when we saw them today. Difficult to photograph but with a cam set up we experienced amazing pictures on  the hide screen.
While watching the screen an RSPB employee shouted that a Red Squirrel was on the feeder. What, a Red Squirrel? Well I was beside myself, having never seen one it was like a moment in a lifetime for me. Brilliant.
After a light lunch in the Village we made our way to Aviemore. Pretty hot now so once parked up it was time for an Ice Cream. This is Summer at its best? Made our way to the Ski Lift to be presented with completely different weather conditions. Still very warm but the Mountains still covered in snow. Surreal, it's almost June.
A great day out, finished with a meal at a restaurant in Culloden.
