Wednesday 21st May 2014

Mixed weather conditions today. Very wet during the morning but cleared giving us a dry, mild afternoon and evening.
Morning visit to the Isle of Skye passing through the Cuillin Mountain range the most rugged in Scotland. Sadly the rain spoilt the views. Despite the rain Ii enjoyed a walk to Portree Harbour and town.
In the afternoon enjoyed another walk at Armadale visiting the woodland gardens and the Clan Donald Centre, a small museum explaining the history of this area.
Met a well known local photographer (Grumpy George). He took great delight in explaining how he captured some of his more obscure photographs. Very interesting.
Late afternoon sailed on to Inverie where we moored for the evening. After dinner enjoyed a walk to the only pub in this area. With some good local Ale and Scottish music it made for a great night out. On leaving it was a joy to take in the beauty of the evening sky with the lights of the ship reflecting in the water.
