A stunning Autumn day. Warm and sunny all day.
Day spent planting hundreds of bulbs in the fig tree border and bandstand border. At the same time cutting back summer shrubs and plants. Some I leave until the Spring so bugs are free to hibernate or to just relax!
Some of these untidy looking shrubs also look good in winter frost or snow.
Was a back breaking day with still a couple of  hundred more bulbs to plant. In the Spring I dug up all known bulbs and separated them hence so many.
Have decided what to do with the tin bath found yesterday. My next project then will be to create a tin bath pond overflowing into the main pond surrounded by stones and rocks and planted with bee loving rock/Alpine plants. Project to undertake once all the branch lopping and shredding is finished for the winter.
Time for a hot bath now....
